NLP/HYPNOSIS

What is Hypnosis?

Direct suggestions to reprogram your thoughts

Within science, there is no debate as to whether hypnosis exists or works.

“In therapy, hypnosis usually involves the person experiencing a sense of deep relaxation with their attention narrowed down, and focused on appropriate suggestions made by the therapist.

These suggestions help people make positive changes within themselves.   Long gone are the days when hypnosis was seen as waving watches and controlling people’s minds.  In a hypnotherapy session you are always in control and you are not made to do anything.  It is generally accepted that all hypnosis is ultimately self-hypnosis.  A hypnotist merely helps to facilitate your experience – hypnotherapy is not about being made to do things, in fact it is the opposite, it is about empowerment.  If someone tells you they can hypnotise you to do something, ask them to hypnotise you to rob a bank, and when they can’t, ask them to stop making ridiculous claims.

Hypnosis is an awesome tool to start reprogramming yourself to start getting the results your want. If you have any questions feel free to email me at mel@melkotlyar.com, call the office to chat at 877.244.9130 or go to melkotlyarcoaching.com for more info.

What is Neuro-Linguistic Programming?

The science of NLP
Neuro-linguistic programming (NLP) has everything to do with the model of interpersonal communication chiefly concerned with the relationship between successful patterns of behaviour and the patterns of thought. NLP can be used as a system of alternative therapy based on educating people in self-awareness and effective communication, and to change their patterns of mental and emotional behaviour. The co-founders, Richard Bandler and linguist John Grinder claimed it would be instrumental in “finding ways to help people have better, fuller and richer lives”. This science has greatly helped many entrepreneurs shorten the learning curve and to catapult their businesses to new levels.

NLP was originally promoted by its founders, Bandler and Grinder, in the 1970s as an extraordinarily effective and rapid form of psychological therapy, capable of addressing the full range of problems such as phobias, depression, habit disorder, psychosomatic illnesses, learning disorders. NLP also has produced results on overcoming limited decisions creating a well-being and healthy functioning life. It was promoted as a ‘science of excellence’, derived from the study or ‘modeling’ of how successful or outstanding people in different fields obtain their results. It has proven that NLP skills can be learned by anyone to improve their effectiveness both personally and professionally.
